Church Partnership
In recent years we have partnered with Ushindi (Victory) Baptist Church in Kenya via Compassion’s Church Engagement Programme.
Compassion is an International Christian organisation working with the church in 26 of the world’s poorest countries to release children from poverty in the name of Jesus. The projects are Christ-centred, church-based and child-focussed.
Since our partnership began in 2009, many children who attend UBC's Compassion Child Development Centre have been sponsored by people attending WBC. Through sponsorship and the care of the project staff, children attending the centre receive a holistic programme of care that enables them to grow physically, socially and spiritually. The effect ripples out into the community.
We have also been able to raise funds for UBC to build much needed multi-purpose rooms and also to provide latrines and a water harvesting and storage system. Because of the improvements to the infra-structure, more children can be registered and are being released from the grip of poverty.
